Brand it, Build it, Market it – Ricochet Does it All for CocktailTown.com

Portland, OR – Cocktailtown.com is a new destination site for everything for the cocktail lifestyle.  The site features Cocktail Town™ books, beginning with first edition Cocktail Town™ San Francisco along with glassware, bar accessories and more. Produced by Ricochet, the book features 27 of the top cocktail venues in San Francisco along with a signature recipe from each. Designed to elevate each cocktail and its venue, high design photography, engaging copy and a beautiful design tell the San Francisco artisan cocktail story. Part travel guide part recipe book, the series will continue with the next edition covering New York.
 
Creating the Brand
Ricochet began brand development with the book, defining the personality and character of the brand. The brand mark inspiration was the Deco period which has the distinct advantage of providing a retro and progressive feel simultaneously. This allows the brand to embrace the early cocktail culture in the pre-prohibition period, as well as the evolution from post-prohibition into the current handcrafted cuisine culture. The star elements add to the celebratory feel. The tagline was created within the aspirational/target-driven positioning while capturing the essence of enjoyment the cocktail lifestyle provides ‘Live the Life’.
 
Building Commerce
The e-commerce site provides a rich visual experience with Ricochet produced videos featuring the venues in the book series, mixologists from the venues making the books’ recipes and an interesting collection of nearly 200 skus of glassware, bar accessories, and mixers in addition to Cocktail Town™ books.   Ricochet designed the e-commerce site designing the user experience, creating the design skins and significantly customizing the Magento e-commerce engine to provide the functionality as well as the user experience preferred. Google Analytics has been implemented to provide actionable metrics.
 
Driving Sales
The site soft launched November 6, and is being followed by a robust PR and Social Media campaign, search engine marketing, online display advertising and print campaign.
