I found myself asking this after seeing these commercials in last night’s
BCS National Championship Game. So, I went to another big G, Google, and looked it up.
Turns out, PepsiCo is “
now attempting to up Gatorade's game with new packaging and renamed line extensions.” The renamed line extensions specifically attempt to "convey the attitude of a tough-love coach or personal trainer, through in-your-face names on the label."
I can’t decide how I feel about this, though the commercial did pique my interest. And it seemed to generate a lot of buzz. But I’m not so sure this is the answer to any decline in Gatorade sales.
