The Ethics of Marketing the Debt Crisis Friday Jul 29 2011

The representation of fact and fiction have been battling before us for weeks, with only a few sincere souls willing to sacrifice personal gain for doing the right thing. The gold star (no pun intended) for telling the story well can’t be awarded to anyone in this jockeying match unfortunately. It takes a significant filter to screen out personal motive and I’m not sure that exists. The ethics of marketing when it comes to the public good is something I think deserves open debate, as well as personal accountability. What appears to be an accurate look at the debt crisis comes from MSN’s Jim Jubak, a refreshing perspective from someone with no skin in the political popularity game.
