Portland, OR – Ricochet Partners has completed development of a new visual identity package and website for Columbia Distributing, a leading Pacific Northwest distributor of beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages.
The new Columbia distributing is a merger of three notable distributors, Portland-based Mt. Hood Beverage and Columbia Distributing, as well as Southern Oregon’s Gold River Distributing. “The merger of these three key players required a new identity,” said Jeanne McKirchy-Spencer, Richochet’s Chief Strategy Officer. The new Columbia Distributing is one of the largest distributors in country, “but they still wanted to maintain their friendly, Pacific Northwest roots while at the same time projecting an image of a company that is a definite leader in their category.”
The new visual identity uses iconic elements representing the Columbia River, which separates the company’s two largest markets, as well as Mt. Hood, an iconic symbol of the Northwest visible from both states.
The friendly, yet professional feel was carried over to the website, which “gives you a warm, relaxed feeling when you visit the site,” said Peter Charlton, Ricochet’s Chief Creative Director. “It’s a clean, well-organized site that’s easy to navigate, plus it evokes the feeling you get when you’re hanging out with friends, enjoying some refreshments. Bringing that sense of friendship and community into people’s lives is what Columbia Distributing is all about, and the site reflects that.”
